The purpose of the SAK Mini Fire Capsule is to have always a source of ignition ready for emergency/survival situations. It's not something I would use every day, 'cause the preparation it's not so easy, as you will see. We are speaking here about a tiny "fire capsule" that you should place in the corckscrew of your knife for months or years, and use when you really need to ignite a fire.
First of all, you need a straw, like the one you should find on the juice fruit
Now, I cut a piece of the straw, long roughly as the SAK corckscrew
Second step: you need some cotton wool and petroleum jelly. Put the cotton wool on the petroleum jelly until the cotton wool is full soaked, than insert the cotton wool on the piece of the straw (I use a small stick to help). Cut out the cotton wool that protrudes from the extremities of the straw.
It's now time to seal the capsule. First of all, you need to clean out the capsule from the petroleum jelly. Use a kleenex for it.
Than, you need your pliers and a lighter. Put an extremity of the capsule on the pliers and thigt, than use the lighter to mold the plastic strips. Repeat for both the capsule extremities.
You now have your firestarter capsule, sealed, long as the SAK corckscrew. This capsule is water resistant, and the cotton wool soaked with the petroleum jelly inside will be ready to be ignited for months or years ...
Just put the SAK firestarter capsule in the corkscrew. To do that, you need to rotate the capsule pushing gently at the same time the capsule inside the corckscrew
Your SAK Mini Fire Capsule is ready. When you need for a fire, remove the capsule from the corckscrew, than cut the plastic envelope and rub the cotton wool to soften and enlarge cotton fibres.
You may ingnite very easily the soaked cotton wool using a firesteel (or a lighter, of course). The soaked cotton wool burns for one minute approx, and is a great fire starter

Have fun with your bushcraft! :-)
